According to statistics compiled by the U.S. Department of Education, two-thirds of college students today leave their alma mater with debt from student loans, and the average student loan debt amount among these graduates is a startling $23,186.
These student debt numbers go hand in hand with reports from the College Board that four-year public colleges and universities now charge, on average, about $7,600 in annual tuition and fees to in-state undergraduate students and nearly $12,000 a year to out-of-state students. Private non-profit four-year colleges and universities average more than twice that, costing students about $27,300 a year in tuition and fees.
With the average tuition cost of a four-year degree running between $36,000 and $108,000 — and thats without counting non-tuition college costs like room and board, textbooks, transportation, and living expenses — its easy to understand why student loans have become such a common piece of a students financial aid package.
An increasing number of students who graduate with college loans, however, are finding it difficult to repay their student loan debt. Department of Education statistics show that nationally, about 7 percent of borrowers who entered repayment on their federal education loans in 2008 defaulted within the first year of repayment, and nearly 14 percent have defaulted within three years. (2008 is the last full year for which student loan default statistics are available.)
As consumer and student advocacy groups like The Project on Student Debt and the Institute for College Access & Success call attention to the spreading problem of ballooning student loan debt, spiking default rates, and the growing number of recent graduates who find themselves in need of debt help, some students are looking for ways to pay for college without taking on debt from school loans.
Graduating from college debt-free is certainly possible, but it can require some careful planning, creative financing, and potentially some adjustments in your college plans.
1) Pay as You Go If your school offers tuition payment plans, consider eschewing student loans in favor of a “pay-as-you-go” model. By taking advantage of a school payment plan, you can pay for college in smaller installments, rather than as one big chunk all at once.
Many colleges and universities now offer monthly payment plans that allow you to spread out the cost of your tuition and fees over the course of the semester and pay for your college costs in monthly installments. You may be charged a small one-time or monthly fee when you opt for a tuition payment plan, but once youve earned your degree, youll be able to leave school with no student loan debt.
2) Scholarships & Grants Spend some time each month searching for college scholarships and grants. There are several online scholarship search engines that allow you to search databases of awards for free. Scholarships and grants provide “free money” for college that, unlike student loans, you wont need to pay back.
Seating Plan in Wedding Parties/p>
The wedding positions have been filled. The father of the bride has prepared his wedding speech. The children are being attended by their parents to fulfill their functions as ring bearers and flower girls. The best man knows it’s coming and is just looking forward to a signal to start.
The union of the two souls, indeed, needs a structure to carry out a ceremony that is worth remembering. The designation of wedding functions will ensure that the wedding outline is supported. To further provide organization, planning a seating layout will guarantee that the ceremony is kept running without any unexpected disturbances.
Differences and Disputes
Family differences are often raised during the meeting of the two camps. It is in a gentleman’s creed to place her bride’s well being first but the groom’s family often trims it to conditions that are humane. Disaster is just waiting to happen in such circumstances. Perhaps a divorced couple is invited bringing with them their new lovers. In such cases, it is highly advisable to isolate their seating as far as possible to deter any flare-up which could ruin the formal celebration. Make sure that their seating slots are located in equal distance from the front to prevent the idea that your party is taking sides.
Wedding is never complete without children. Even with a formal celebration, informalities in the form of children loitering around are still welcome; but only up to a particular degree. Children are best seated on weddings on separate tables designated for them. Offering some items to play with such as coloring book, keeping conversations with parents and children appetizers can discourage them from creating any ceremony interruptions. Parents’ cooperation is specially needed to accomplish this task.
People attend weddings in groups. If you’re hesitating in piecing them out, don’t. There’s a lot of time left to socialize and mingle in later parts of your wedding day. Later, they can tread the dance floor and come together without restraint. Outgoing can always enjoy finding a new friend. Scattering them around the room would enhance the reception’s ambience. It’s easier to have one grating group amongst tables of quiet ones.
A writer’s block is what many of us experience. But it would be a tragedy when this happens when you are preparing your speech for your daughter’s wedding ceremony. Search no more! Here’s a helpful guide. .

Selecting a classic childrens book can be fun, rewarding and a trip down memory lane. There are some unifying things that make childrens books classics.
First of all, childrens books should be bright and colorful, with illustrations that capture a childs attention. Books by Dr. Seuss are prime examples of classic childrens stories which make successful use of vibrant colors. Goodnight, Moon, Goodnight, Gorilla, and anything by Eric Carle are also excellent examples of books with illustrations that suck in the reader.
Secondly, classic childrens books should tell a good story, often with humor. Kids love to laugh, and a well-written childrens book will crack a child up over and over. The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by A. Wolf, The Paper Bag Princess, and Click Clack, Moo Cows that Type are fast becoming childrens classics because they crack kids up every time! The Ramona Quimby and Junie B. Jones series also are great examples!
Finally, classic childrens books engage children at their level. For young children, these are books that have a tactile component, something they can touch and manipulate. For example, Pat the Bunny is a book that even the youngest children can engage with because it is soft, and they can explore through touch. When children get a little older, many childrens stories are books with repetition.
Classic stories like Chicka Chicka Boom Boom or I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly are stories with repeating lines. As children listen to the book, they can fill in the blanks of the story with these repeating phrases. From there, many childrens books incorporate rhyme. That is why Dr. Seuss is so popular. Finally, as children get older, they appreciate classic childrens stories with great characters, doing great things.
Where the Wild Things Are, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Amelia Bedelia and Ruby in Her Own Time are examples of classic childrens stories with great characters exploring an exciting time for them. These classic stories also have lessons but they do not beat children over the head with them.
Obviously, classic childrens stories mean different things to different people. Reading a plethora of different types of stories to children is vital to them becoming good, mature, accomplished readers. This is also a key to getting children to love to read! Every book that a child connects to is a classic in his or her own mind, and that is a great thing indeed.

The Piper Aircraft family is one that is known for several good reasons and the top being one to manufacture just about an airplane for everyone. With a company of quite a long history before it finally got to become known as Piper Aircraft as its manufacturer, Piper is glad to introduce its many produce all of them not only built with great features but also built to have an edge over other aircrafts under their same class.
Piper Dakota is one great addition to the Piper Aircraft family for several reasons topped by the fact that this is one aircraft that can go really fast. The Dakota could cruise at about 143 knots giving it a slight difference over its competitors in its class. Although it appears that slight difference may not make a difference at all, you are wrong to think this. This slight difference becomes really big considering that Dakota only has five more horsepower as compared to say, a Cessna 182.
Another reason that makes it a great addition to the Piper Aircraft family which the Dakota takes pride in is that it has a great range. While some of its competitors like the 182 has a range of about 445 nautical miles, this Piper can actually go about 650 nautical miles. Now this is truly important for aviators who fly long distances. The great range can be a potential time-saver as well as money-saver. This is because you need not descend, fill up, take off again and climb back to altitude during your long distance flights.
The Piper Aircraft family welcomes this wonderful addition into its collection of competitively-priced aircrafts. And to think that its many significant features could say no less than its advantage over others for the buying populace. The Piper Dakota is one that any aviator would love to have and own for possibly the rest of his life. For the performance that this aircraft is able to deliver for its owner, the price that it gets sold for is no doubt cheap to shell out. And for this, the moment you get your hands on a Dakota, you are sure to never want it gone.
Amongst the great members of the Piper Aircraft family are Piper J-3 Cub, Piper Super Cub, Piper Tri-pacer, Piper Cherokee (along with its variations, Piper Cherokee 140, 160 and 180), Piper Archer, Piper Warrior, Piper Saratoga, Piper Arrow, Piper Comanche, and Piper Malibu. All these aircrafts are guaranteed to excel when put alongside its competition in its class and so like the Dakota, other members in the Piper Aircraft family are no less than really valuable finds. The Dakota as an addition to the Piper Aircraft family reinforces the peoples view of the Piper Aircraft as one of the leading aircraft producers.

When the child actually responds to your parenting skills, it can be very fun. It is also fun when the child becomes aware of her environment and learns the ways of humans. When a baby is born, she has no idea what world she is being born into. It is up to the parent to teach her the ways of the human race and what we consider proper behavior. This is the big responsibility of the parent. How the child adapts to what we call the real world is directly dependent on how well you as the parent have prepared her.
There are ways to help prepare for preparing a child for the real world. I have always said that parenting comes from the heart. Good parenting comes from keen observational skills. Excellent parenting comes from careful guiding the child in the direction in which she will naturally go. One must hope that this natural direction a good thing. Supposing it is, it will lead to the true happiness of the child. This is when parenting becomes fun. When you see a lifetime of parenting from the heart, keen observational skills, and careful guidance, then you see how your hard work paid off.
This isnt to say that it will all be fun and games. There is diaper changing, potty training, numerous bath and meal times, discipline, and naptimes. All these things are important for the successful raising of a child, but the most important things, those listed above, are the most important. When you see that there is happiness and fulfillment in your childs life, you think on all the good times in the past (but not the bad!) you think that you have done a good job.
In the meantime, however, you must persevere. The child will push your limits, exhaust you to the very end, and then ask for more. They do not apologize; it is simply the nature of children. They must know the limits of the world and the people surrounding them. Otherwise, the childs education will be incomplete. You are their only resource until you turn them loose on the world.
If youre in the child care business, youre probably already well aware of the newest federal crib safety regulations that were approved in December 2010. What you may not be completely aware of is how it impacts your child care center. Here, we break down what the new regulations mean to your child care business.
Child Care Cribs and Safety Regulations
In the last few years, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled millions of drop-side cribs due to suffocation, entrapment and fall risks. The CPSC has now taken a firm stand in crib safety.
On June 28, 2011, the new CPSC crib safety regulations that impose stricter guidelines for crib manufacturing, took effect that prohibit the manufacture, sale and resale of non-compliant cribs. Additionally in an unprecedented action the CPSC also banned all non-compliant in places of public accommodation as of December 28, 2012. These new standards have been approved since December 2010 and are just now going into effect to ensure that hotel cribs, child care cribs, and all other commercially used cribs are safe for use.
A common misconception is that the new safety standard only affects drop-side cribs. The new law is much farther reaching, encompassing almost every component of the crib including: improved labeling, more severe vertical impact testing, elimination of wood screws, reduction of toe hold exposure, and enhanced structural integrity of the slats.
With the new safety regulations in effect now, child care centers, hotels and furniture rental companies that offer cribs must begin making plans to have compliant cribs in their facilities by December 28, 2012. Yet, the bottom line is that all publicly used, non-compliant cribs currently being used, including child care cribs, must be replaced by cribs that have been tested to meet the newest crib safety standards by the deadline.
For a child care center purchasing a new crib it is critical to make sure the new cribs pass the new standards set forth by the CPSC. The most effective way to ensure this is to request from the manufacturer a certificate of compliance confirming a passing test to the new 16 CFR 1219 for full-size cribs and 16 CFR 1220 for non full-size cribs.
Private Education is an increasingly popular option for UK students and their families. Parents from every sort of background choose private education for their children and about half of the children entering independent schools have parents who also received private education.
The main advantages of a private education are high academic standards, good examination results, sound discipline, superior facilities and a commitment to a wide range of sport and extra-curricular activities. UK private education has a long history steeped with tradition and can offer a unique cultural environment for the education of children where the focus is on the development and care of the individual. Pupils are encouraged to develop their talents and to pursue new interests through clubs and societies, sport, outdoor activities and community service. Meetings are often arranged between schools at which pupils can meet and share interests.
A great strength of the private education sector is the choice and diversity it offers. Regardless of their child’s ability, parents can choose “girls” or “boys” only schools or co-educational schools; schools which are boarding or day schools; senior or junior; rural or urban; large or small. Independent schools are available to provide education from age 3 to 19. Many schools provide help for children whose first language is not English, and special tuition is available. Guardianship arrangements are available for those whose families live outside the United Kingdom, and many other practical details such as transport to and from airports are looked after by the schools, working in partnership with the parents.
The private education sector achieves the highest academic standards. Evidence from the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) suggests that pupils at all levels of ability do better in private schools. More than 80% of pupils at private education gain five or more GCSE passes at grades A-C compared to a national average of 49%. Independent school performance at A-Level is equally impressive and 90% of leavers from independent schools go on to higher education.
Why Choose Private Education
Independent education offers many advantages:
excellent academic results and high expectationssmall class sizes and attention to individual needs
high degree of specialisation
a wide range of extra curricular activities: opportunities for sport, drama, music, and special activities
high levels of investment in facilities
the option of boarding – full, weekly or flexible
good discipline and the encouragement of a responsible attitude to work
diversity, catering for differing ethos and philosophy
help for special needs
private education often boosts earning potential because pupils benefit from smaller classes and better teachers.
Disrupting a child’s private education midway through a vital stage would be very unfortunate, so it is important to prepare for the commitment of paying fees for several years.
It is in most cases possible to significantly reduce the financial burden of school fees with professional advice on planning strategies, SFIA would typically save parents tens of thousands on the cost of private education.
